Christening 16 Aug 1587 at St Michael the Archangel, Lonsdale, Lancashire, England, father John Newton Clerke[1]
Research Notes
There is an interesting 25 June 1602 reference in the will of Brian Fairbarne of the Westend of Clint, Knaresborough which mentions "Marmaduke Clerke, my brother". How a Clerke is a Fairbarne is not clear[2] Knaresborough is in Yorkshire so there is no certainty that it is the same Marmaduke Clerke. However he may have been the husband of Fairbane's sister Margarett. The full transcription, with typos, is as follows "to Marmaduke Clerke, my brother, and to my syster Margarett, eyther of them xs.; towardes the building of Hampsthwayte Brigge ij s"
