Mary (Cleveland) Haire was a Georgian.

Mary Cleveland, daughter of James Alfred and Georgia Ann Gaines, born Nov. 13, 1904; died Sept 27, 1995; married John S. Haire, born May 21, 1891; died July 10, 1979. Mary Cleveland Haire’s obituary appeared in a Mocksville, N.C. Newspaper Sept. 1995 with the following: Mary Cleveland Haire, 90 Rosewood Lane, died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 1995 at Autumn Care of Mocksville. Born Nov. 13, 1904, in Elbert Co;unty, GA, Mrs. Haire was a daughter of the late Georgia Gaines and James Alfred Cleveland. She previously taught elementary school in Elbert County schools. She was a homemaker and active member of Mocksville First Baptist Church, Mocksville Senior Citizens and American Association of Retired Persons. She was preceded in death by husband John Stokles Haire and stepson Curtis S. Haire. Survivors include sons George Haire, Mocksville, and Charles Haire, Washington D.C.; stepson Herbert Haire, Greensboro; stepdaughter Sarah Reece, Clemmons; brother Fred Cleveland, Alpharetta, GA; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Services: 3 p.m. Friday, Eaton Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Larry Hovis. Burial in Rose Cemetery. Visitation: 7-9 tonight at the funeral home. Memorials: First Baptist Church, 390 N. Main St., Mocksville, N.C. 27028.^[1]
