Newcomb was born in 1756, the son of Ezra Cleveland and Jerusha Newcomb.
He married Abigail Willis about 1778 - parents of Thomas, Chester, Charlotte and Asahel Cleveland
He is buried at North Cemetery, Worthington Center, Hampshire, Massachusetts, USA
