Biography

Hugh Powell Gough Clews was born on 25 December 1890 in Rotherham, Yorkshire, England, the son of Helen Powell Clews (nee Sharp) and William Henry Clews.[1][2]

He emigrated to Australia on the Koenigin Luise in 1911.[3]

He was an army officer and soldier.[1][4]

He married Alice May Reeves on 10 January 1918 in Balaclava, Victoria, Australia.[1][5] They had two children.

Hugh died on 22 August 1980 in Frankston, Victoria.[1][6]
