Biography

Hugh Powell Gough Clews was born on 25 December 1890 in Rotherham, Yorkshire, England, the son of Helen Powell Clews (nee Sharp) and William Henry Clews.^[1][2]

He emigrated to Australia on the Koenigin Luise in 1911.^[3]

He was an army officer and soldier.^[1][4]

He married Alice May Reeves on 10 January 1918 in Balaclava, Victoria, Australia.^[1][5] They had two children.

Hugh died on 22 August 1980 in Frankston, Victoria.^[1][6]
