In the census for Bandera County, taken in August of 1870, Perry was living with his parents and his older sister, Martha. His father was a Justice of the Peace and his mother was "keeping house". They had real estate valued at $800 and personal property valued at $1200.[2]
We lose sight of Perry for 30 years. He shows up in the 1900 census taken on 16 Jun 1900, still in Bandera County and still living with his parents. His younger sister, Mary, is also living in the household. Perry is shown as a "Stock Hand" and his father is now showing as an "Agent". Mary is a "Teacher of Art".[3]
Another twenty years pass, and Perry's life has changed. As of 10 Jan 1920, he is renting a home in Polk County, Oregon, United States. He is shown as a "laborer" on a Fruit Farm. He is married to Anna. Also living in the household are Anna's daughter, Dicie Albin and Dicie's daughter, Elizabeth.[4]
Sometime around 1921, Perry and Anna, had a little girl named Martha. At some point between 1920 and 1926, Perry moved to Crescent City, Del Norte, California, United States.[5] Unfortunately, Anna died in 1926 in Crescent City.[6] In the 1930 census, on 5 Apr, Perry and Martha were living in a home on D Street in Crescent City that Perry had purchased and was valued at $800. He was working as a "Laborer" at odd jobs. He did not own a radio set.[5]
In 1940 on 18 Apr, Perry is living at 860 8th Street in Crescent City. He had been at this address since at least 1935 and it was valued at $600. Living with Perry are his daughter Martha and her husband Paul Coker. Perry, now 74, is apparently retired.[7]
