Biography

Olive Marjorie (Madge) Cliff was born on 27 Jul 1895 in Portobello, Staffordshire, England.^[1][2][3] Her parents were Robert John Cliff and Emma Horton.^[2]

In the 1901 England census, she was living with her parents and sister in Heath, Staffordshire, England.^[2]

Her parents separated, and her mother emigrated to Canada in 1906. Doris and Marjorie initially remained with their father in England (Doris later emigrated to Canada). He remarried to Florence Green.

In the 1911 England census, Marjorie (15 years old) is living in Wolverhampton, Staffordshire with her father and his second wife, and siblings from this second marriage.^[4]

Olive M Cliff married Harold Remington in 1916 in Warwickshire, England.^[5][3][6]

In the 1939 England register, Olive M Remington (44) was living in Coventry, Warwickshire, with husband Harold S Remington (53) and children Lucy D (22), James W(20) and a third person name redacted on record.^[3]

Family records indicate that her third child with Harold Remington was Kathlyn who married D. Ken Fraser. Also Lucia died early from TB and did not marry. Marjorie may have married again, to an F.G. Edmonds (Harold Remington died in 1939.).^[6]
