William Petre, eldest son of the Right Hon. Lord Petre of Thorndon Hall, in the county of Essex, to Mary Teresa, eldest daughter of the Hon. Charles Thomas Clifford, of Irnham Hall, in the county of Lincoln, and niece of the Right Hon. Hugh Charles Lord Clifford, Baron of Chudleigh, in the county of Devon.

MARRIAGE IN HIGH LIFE. – On Tuesday, at the Spanish Ambassador’s Chapel, Manchester-square, the Hon. William Petre, eldest son of Lord Petre, led to the altar Miss Clifford, daughter of the Hon. Charles Thomas Clifford and niece to Lord Clifford, of Chudleigh. The Hon. Mrs. Clifford gave a déjeûner, after the ceremony, at Hakes’s Hotel, Manchester-square, to the Earl and Countess of Arundel and Surrey, Lord and Lady Petre, Mr. and the Hon. Mrs. Humphrey Weld, Sir Henry and Lady Bedingfield, and Mr. and Mrs. Maxwell. The happy couple left town at three o’clock to pass the honeymoon at Tonbridge Wells.
