Private David Clifford served with New Hampshire during the American Revolution.
David Clifford was born November 28, 1761, in Kingston, New Hampshire, a son of Joseph and Mary Clifford. [1] David enlisted during the American Revolutionary War and served under the command of Colonel Scammell. [2]
On November 28, 1781, in Bath, Sagadahoc, Maine, David married Lydia Jones.
In March of 1816, in Bath, Maine, David married Mehitable Hansen. [3]
Applications for membership in the Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution have been made by David's descendants through his daughters, Clarrissa Clifford, who married Joseph Clifford and Mary Dinsmore, who married James Mills Mitchell. [4]
David received a pension for his service, during the American Revolution. His pension records indicate that he died April 6, 1837, in Maine. [5]
