THE NORTHERN STAR, Friday December 16, 1955 OBITUARY MR. J. CLIFFORD An old identity of the Dalwood-Meerschaum Vale district, Mr. James Clifford (89) died in Lismore last night. Mr. Clifford was born at Brisbane Water (N.S.W.) and as a lad came to the North Coast. He has lived here ever since. His wife predeceased him three years ago. He is survived by sons, Messsrs, Jack (Newcastle), Arthur and Jim Clifford (Meerschuam Vale), daughters Mesdames M. Hopkins (Byron Bay), C. Cross (Tasmania) and L. Pinkerton (Sydney). Also surviving are brothers Messrs. Joe (Mullumbimby, Dick (Dalwood), Andrew (Alstonville), Jack (Ballina), Clifford and Charles (Dunoon), His funeral will leave St. John's Church of England Rous, tomorrow (Saturday) after a service commencing at 12 noon for the Rous cemetery.
