Research Notes

Estimated birth: say 1300-1310, or about 1307[3]

Detached parents: This profile was moved to be a daughter of Robert & Maud (de Clare) Clifford. It had been attached as a daughter of Robert, 3rd Baron Clifford & Isabel (Berkeley) Clifford (Clifford-1545 & Berkeley-5). I found no evidence that Robert and Isabel (Berkeley) de Clifford had a daughter named Margaret. However, Robert and Maud (de Clare) de Clifford did have a daughter Margaret (b "early 1300s") who married Peter Mauley.[4] ~ Noland-165, August 23, 2015

update: merge completed

Clifford-786 and Clifford-424 appear to represent the same person because: I changed the parents of Clifford-424, as there's no evidence she was the daughter of Robert & Isabel (especially with attached husband Mauley... who is shown as marrying Margaret, dau. of Robert & Maud). I also changed her birth year to match Clifford-786.

aha! Just found the source for the info in this profile: Tudor Place (no sources apparent). See

I still propose that this Margaret should be disconnected from parents Robert & Isabel & merged with Margaret Clifford-786, daughter of Roger & Maude de Clare.

see the note added to her biography. If no objection, I proposed separating her as daughter of Robert and Isabel & proposing a merge with Margaret (Clifford-786) m Piers Mauley.
