Thomas B Clifton was born about 1827 in Rhea, Tennessee, United States, son of Bailey Clifton (~1785–>1860) and Rincey Susan Alford (1789–1848).[1]

Thomas (23) married Mary Maria Telesfora Palvadore (16) (born on December 6, 1834 in Louisiana, United States; daughter of Jean Baptiste (Palvadeaux) Palvadore and Maria Brigette (de los Santos Coy) Palvadore) on March 3, 1851 in Nacogdoches, Nacogdoches, Texas.[2] Their children were:
