Jacob Cline Sr lived in Appalachia, in North Carolina.
Jacob, son of Johann Cline and Susan Beiber, was born about 1765 in North Carolina and died after 1850 in Catawba County, North Carolina.[1]
Jacob Cline identifies himself as a brother of Michael Cline in his supporting statement for the 1840 Revolutionary War pension application by Michael's widow. Michael Cline is named as a son of Sebastian Cline in Sebastian's will dated 27 December 1791. Therefore, Jacob is also a proven son of Sebastian (Boston) Cline.[2]
Spouse: Elizabeth "Betsy" WILFONG
Married 28 Nov 1786 in Lincoln County, North Carolina. Elizabeth "Betsy" WILFONG was born between 1766 and 1768 in North Carolina. She died 12 Apr 1827 [circa age 58-61] in Lincoln (present-day Catawba) County, North Carolina.
They had the following children:
Ambrose (or Absolom) CLINE born after 1786
Jacob CLINE Jr. born after 1786
Daniel CLINE born about 20 Mar 1789 in Lincoln (present-day Catawba) County, North Carolina. William Hull points out an inconsistency of accounts concerning Daniel Cline in The Heritage of Catawba Co., NC, 1986. Article number 131, indicates that an Elijah Cline is the son of Jacob (b 1763) Cline & Catherine Wilfong. It indicates that Daniel is also their son.[3] However, article number 132 states that Daniel is a son of Jacob & Catherine, but goes on to state that Elijah is a son of Daniel. Mr. Hull's opinion is that Daniel and Elijah are both sons of Jacob and Catherine. The dates of birth and death for Daniel are those stated in article number 132.[4] Note Daniel also had a son named Daniel Jr.
Catherine CLINE born between 1789 and 1792
Elizabeth CLINE born about 1793 in Lincoln County, North Carolina
Mary "Polly" CLINE born before 1795
David CLINE born on 5 Feb 1795v

Anna Barbara CLINE born 17 Dec 1819.[5] Larry Hayer comments on 23 March 2019 that "Anna Barbara Cline was born when her alleged mother was age 55; highly unlikely."

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Jacob by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Jacob:
Cline-3261 and Cline-19 appear to represent the same person because: Same year of birth. From bio of Cline-19, had son Jacob. From bio of Cline-3261, seems to be the same parents and wife. Thanks for reviewing.

There is an inconsistency of accounts concerning Daniel Cline. Two
accounts are from The Heritage of Catawba Co., NC, 1986. One, # 131
indicates that an Elijah Cline is the son of Jacob (b1763) Cline &
Catherine Wilfong. It indicates that Daniel is also their son. However,
acct. # 132 states that Daniel is a son of Jacob & Catherine, but goes on
to state that Elijah is a son of Daniel. My account is that Daniel and
Elijah are both sons of Jacob and Catherine. The dates of birth and death
for Daniel are those stated in acct # 132. In "German SpeakingPeople West
of the Catawba River in NC 1750-1800" Lorena Shell Eaker states that
Jacobs firs wife, Eliz. Wilfong, died 4/12/1827. Then he married Barbara
Hallman
