Excerpt from the Decatur Herald, October 8, 1929: Joseph D. Cline, 1523 North Morgan street, a resident of Decatur for 37 years, died at 4:20 Monday morning from a heart attack at the Wabash Employees Hospital. He was 66 years old. Mr. Cline had suffered a paralytic stroke about two years ago and had been confined to the Wabash hospital for the last eight months. He had been an active member of Celestial Odd Fellows Lodge No. 186, and Grand Encampment 37. Mr. Cline also belonged to the Star Light Rebekah lodge No. 767. He had been a sheet metal worker for the Wabash railroad. Mr. Cline was born in Monticello, Nov. 10, 1862. He was married to Retta Montgomery in Decatur September 26, 1915. He leaves his wife and two daughters, Mrs. Francis Leasure of Roosevelt, Oklahoma, and Mrs. Huldah Monck of Fresno, California. He also leaves one brother, Joseph Cline of Monticello, and a sister, Mrs. Mary Shoff of Gold Run, California. Funeral services will be at 2:30 Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 9, in the Dawson & Wikoff chapel. Burial will be in Fairlawn cemetery. The body will be at the home from 10 o'clock Tuesday morning to Wednesday noon.
