Golden Anniversary To Be Celebrated published in "The New Castle News", New Castle, Pa., Friday, 4 Sept. 1925.
Mr. and Mrs. John C. Houk will celebrate their fiftieth wedding anniversary Wednesday, Sept. 16 at the home of their daughter, Mrs. D.L. Williams of Moravia Stop, Harmony Lane.
John Houk, son of David and Margaret Houk and Alice Cline, daughter of Conrad and Mary Harbison Cline were united in marriage by Rev. Cowder, September 15, 1875,
Mr. Houk is 75 and Mrs. Houk is 72. Both have spent their entire lives near their present home. They are members of Slippery Rock Presbyterian Church.
Mr. and Mrs. Houk are the parents of nine children; Mrs. William Forrest and Mrs. Wayne Kemp of New Castle, Mrs. William Willhausen, Mrs. William P. McConahy, and Mrs. G.V. Gibson of Slippery Rock Township, Mrs. J.A. Perdue, Conrad and Samuel Houk of Moravia Stop. There are thirty-three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A cordial invitation has been extended to all friends and neighbors to attend a picnic dinner which will be served at noon on the lawn.

Mrs. Alice Cline Houk, 82, passed away Sunday night about 11 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William McConahy in Slippery Rock township. Death was due to infirmities brought on by old age.
The deceased is well known in this vicinity, having lived here for many years. She was a member of the Slippery Rock Presbyterian church and of its missionary society. She is survived by nine children, seven daughters, Mrs. William Forrest of New Castle, Mrs. William Wellhausen, Mrs. William McConahy, Mrs. G.V. Gibson of Slippery Rock township, Mrs. W.R. Kemp, Mrs. James Perdue and Mrs. D.L. Williams of Castlewood; two sons, Conrad and William Houk of Castlewood. Mrs. Houk also leaves 38 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 from the Slippery Rock Presbyterian church with the Pastor, Rev. Thomas Berger, officiating. Interment will be made in the church cemetery.
