His parents are Charles C Cline (Feb 1859 in MD to parents both born in MD) and Sallie K Cline (Oct 1862 in MD to parents both born in MD). Also living in the household are his siblings Lydia C (Aug 1884 in MD), Jerry (Aug 1889 in MD), Ruth (Dec 1891 in MD), Victor (Feb 1894 in MD), Robert (Feb 1896 in MD), and Lucy B (Feb 1898 in MD). His parents had been married for 18 years, and Sallie was the mother of 11 children, 9 still living. Charles C is a farmer, while John is a farm laborer. 1968 Aug 26: John Cline dies in Hagerstown at the age of 82.^[12] Joining him on his tombstone is Mae Hauver (Oct 22, 1884 to Oct 10, 1956). They are buried in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown, Washington County.^[13]

John Wesley Cline, 82, died at his home, 1140 Jefferson Blvd., Monday.

He was born and reared at Middlepoint in Frederick County, and was a son of Charles C. and Sally Shupp Cline. He had lived in Washington County for the past 40 years. He was a farmer, retiring in 1958.

He is survived by daughter, Mrs. Gladys E. Smetzer of Smithsburg; sons, Woodrow H. of Hagerstown, Harold L. of Smithsburg; 24 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; sisters, Misses Ruth and Lydia Cline both of Hagerstown, Mrs. Mary Armath of Milwaukee, Wis., Mrs. Alice McGowan of Hagerstown; brothers, Victor of Cascade, Robert of Biloxi, Miss., Charles R. of Hagerstown, and Albert of Frederick.

The body was removed to the Coffman Funeral Home where services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. The Rev. Ronald H. McClung will officiate; intombment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 7 to 9. ^[14]
