Joseph was the youngest of six children born to John Daniel and Mary Jane (Moose) Cline. He married Bessie Ethel Fink and they had five children: Joseph Leroy, Ray Adam, Doris May, Gene Floyd and Ned Aubrey.

Of Concord Dies
CONCORD - J. Paul Cline, 80, of Rt. 5, father of Greensboro Daily News reporter Ned Cline, died Sunday morning in Cabarrus Memorial Hospital.
Funeral will be 4 p.m. Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Ted Goins and the Rev. C. Lee Shipton officiating. Burial will be at the church.
He was a retired farmer and a veteran of World War I. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 301 and a charter member of the St. John's Grange.
Surviving are widow, Mrs. Bessie Fink Cline; daughter, Mrs. Doris C. Wade of Spruce Pine; sons, Ned A. Cline of Greensboro, J. Leroy Cline and Gene F. Cline of Belmont, Ray A. Cline of Concord; sister, Mrs. Jennie C. Casper of Kannapolis.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church building fund.
The family will receive friends at Gordon-Peninger Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant 7-9 p.m. today.
