Biography
Mary Polly Cline was born on February 15, 1848, in West Virginia. She was the daughter of Billy Cline and Catharine Stanley. She married Maston M. Christian on January 17, 1867, in McDowell County, West Virginia. She then married Henry Timothy Wallace and 1872, most likely in West Virginia. They were farmers and had eleven children during their marriage. She died on August 21, 1925, in Clearfield, Kentucky, at the age of 77, and was buried in Morehead, Kentucky.

State of Kentucky, Rowan County, Polly Wallace of said State and County, desiring to avail herself of the pension allowed to Indigent Widows of Soldiers, General Assembly, approved March 11, 1912, hereby submits her proofs, and after being duly sworn true answers to make to the following questions, deposes and answers as follow:
1. What is your full name and where do you reside? Polly Wallace. My address is Morehead, Rowan County, Ky.
2. How long and since when have you been a resident of this State? About 28 years, about from 1888.
3. When and where were you born and what was your maiden name: Was born in Virginia, 1847. My maiden name was Polly Cline.
4. When and where was your husband born? State his full name, and where were you and he married, and who performed the marriage ceremony? Floyd County, Ky. About 1830.
5. When and where and in what Company and Regiment did your husband enlist or serve during the war between the States? Beginning of War Capt Harrington's Co. 34th Virginia Cavalry
6. How long did your husband serve in said Company and Regiment: Don't know
7. When and where did your husband's Company and Regiment surrender? Don't know
8. Was your husband present at the time and place when his Company Regiment surrendered? Don't know.
9. If not with his command at surrender, state clearly and specifically where he was, when he left command, for what cause and by what authority? By discharge near King Salt works in Virginia
10. When and where did your husband die? Rowan County, Ky. April 24, 1916
11. At the time of your husband's death, were you living with him as his lawful wife? Yes
12. Have you married since the death of your soldier husband? No
13. What property, real or personal, or income do you have or possess, and its gross value? I own 90 acres of hill land, worth about $300.00, two old mules $60.00, two cows $80.00, two calves $20.00, three hogs $15.00, ? $80.00
14. Have you family? If so, who compose such family? ten living children
15. Name some friend, giving his name and post office address, who will be willing to have us write to him about your case if necessary: Jasper ?, Clearfield, Ky
