Minnie (Cline) Clutter has German Roots.

Minnie May, daughter of Michael Cline and Laura A. "Lillie" Willits,^[1] was born 7 August 1877 Martinsburg, Knox County, Ohio.^[1] By 1880 her parents Michael (age 31, dry goods merchant) and Lillie A. Cline (23) moved to Eden Township, Licking County, with Minnie May (2), her sister Annie S, (four months) and their maternal grandmother Mary Lathram (63).^[2]

After her father's death in 1897,^[3] her mother Lillie A. Cline (age 43, dressmaker and widowed mother of three) rented a home on East Third Street in Mansfield, Richland County, Ohio, for herself and her daughters Minnie May (23, stitcher in suspender factory), Annie S. (20, factory worker) and Edith Faye (18, paper box factory worker).^[4]

On 17 August 1904 in Richland County, she married David "Eugene" Stout,^[5] son of Alpheus Stout and Mary Leeding.^[5][6] They had no children.

They settled in Newark, Licking County, Ohio, where the household in 1910 was composed of David "Eugene" Stout (age 34, car inspector at the car barns), Minnie M. Stout (32), her mother Lillie W. Cline (53) and her sister Annie S. Cline (30, suspender factory worker).^[7] The home they owned in 1920 on Tenth Street in Newark housed the same individuals: David E. Stout (age 44, stationary engineer in the rubber factory), Minnie M. (42), Laura W. (62) and Anna S. Cline (39, packer in a shoe factory).^[8]

David died in 1926,^[6] but the women remained together in Newark in 1930, when the household consisted of the widowed homeowner Minnie Stout (age 52), her mother Lilly Cline (72), sister Anna Cline (50, shoe factory inspector) and a lodger John W. Tilton (47, garage manager).^[9]

Minnie's mother died in 1933.^[10] On 29 July 1941 in Coldwater, Branch County, Michigan, she remarried to Harry Dean Clutter,^[11] son of Hugh W. Clutter and Mary Alice "Allie" Bell.^[12]

She buried her second husband in 1947.^[13] Minnie survived until 20 June 1964, when she died in at home in Newark at the age of 86.^[14] She was buried at Eden Cemetery, Newark,^[15] next to her first husband.^[16]
