DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Fanie by comparing test results with other carriers of his ancestors' Y-chromosome or mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Fanie:

Fanie –

You are now a confirmed member of WikiTree! Thank you for volunteering.

Not sure how to start? Check out How to Use Wikitree.

Have fun and ask for help in G2G if you need it! WikiTree members are always eager to offer guidance to a fellow genealogist. It’s a fun place too. Take a look at what I mean here, G2G’s Question of the Week: How has social media helped you in your research?

The G2G forum is a great way to get to know our community, and if you would like to get more involved, see this page for volunteer opportunities.

Happy hunting!

I am engaged in research into the origins of erythropoetic protoporphyria in South Africa. I need information about incidences of EPP in South African families to establish links to ancestral routes outside SA, probably in Scotland, Holland and other countries where EPP has been diagnosed.

Hi Gideon

Welcome to WikiTree! The initial email from us has helpful links that will get you started. WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we all work together as one collaborative team!

What brings you to us? Do you have research you’d like to share? When you confirm your email address, you’ll have an opportunity to volunteer and tell us about your genealogical interests with your tags.

If your not sure about tags, add one for a surname your interested in and then maybe a country or state. Tell us why the tags you chose are important to you. Don't forget to click on the "volunteer" button.

Once you volunteer, one of our Greeters will be happy to confirm your membership, and you’ll be on your way!!
