Wyman Clough was born at Salisbury, Massachusetts Bay, in early October of 1726, a son of Isaac Clough and Mary (Swain) Clough. He married Sarah Hall on the 27th of December, 1760, at Salem, New Hampshire – daughter of John and Sarah (Kimball) Hall, born on March 1, 1734, probably at Bradford, Massachusetts Bay.

Wyman died between September and November of 1796 in Salem, New Hampshire: his will was dated September 6, 1796, and entered probate on November 1, 1796. His Find A Grave memorial page notes that the couple's "earthly remains... most likely lie near those of his parents in the Salem Center Burying Ground." But their graves, evidently unmarked, "could not be located in the early 1900s."
