No record has been found of the birth of Chase Clough, and his parents are unknown. He was 31 years old when he enlisted in the United States Army at Augusta, Maine, on 15 Apr 1814, and his birthplace was given as Gilmanton, New Hampshire.[1]
Marriage
On 14 Dec 1801, Chase Clough of Livermore, Maine, and Lydia Taylor of Mount Vernon, Maine, (both towns were then in Massachusetts) published at Livermore their intention to marry.[2]
Death
No record has been found of the death of Chase Clough. A record in the Nathan Hale Cemetery Collection says that he is buried at the Lakeview Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Maine, and that he died on 23 Dec 1868 at the age of 87.[3]
Research Note
An Ancestry.com profile, citing only the Millenium File for a source, says that he was the son of Simon Clough and Mary (Avery) Clough.[4] (Bloom-1124 23:36, 10 March 2020 (UTC))
