Biography
Roy was born in August 1897. He was the son of Charles Clute and Nannie Dalton. He passed away in April 1978.
His mother, Nancy married Charles M. Clute January 22, 1896, in Kingfisher. Before moving to Oklahoma, Charles had been engaged in the hardware business in Chicago for about ten years. Nancy had one son Roy Clute. Nancy died in Kingfisher on December 27, 1901. She died of lockjaw as the result of a smallpox vaccination.
Roy was raised by Leona after Nancy’s death. Roy Marselus Clute was born August 11, 1897, and died April 12, 1978, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Roy and his wife operated motels for a number of years. Roy had one daughter.[1]
