Louise Hunsinger Cook, Age 90, of Sayre, Pennsylvania passed away on Tuesday , April 26, 2011 at Sayre House, Sayre, Pennsylvania. She was born December 18, 1920, in Sayre, PA, the daughter of the late Michael and Helen Wakefield Clymer. During World War II, Louise and her husband Donald lived in Gardena, CA, where she was employed as a riveter in an aircraft factory, building military aircraft for the war effort. She later worked at Thatcher Glass in Elmira, NY, Stroehmann Bakery in Sayre, PA, and retired from the Guthrie Clinic in Sayre. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed hunting and fishing. She was predeceased by her first and second husbands, Donald H Hunsinger and Donald Cook; sister Dorothy (Walter) Quick, and brothers Raymond Pierce, Floyd Pierce, and Calvin Clymer. Louise is survived by her daughter Rita (James Jr.) VanSkiver of Waverly, NY and son Michael A (Jerrianne) Hunsinger of Sayre, PA; grandchildren James (Ann Marie) VanSkiver III, Steven (Wendy) VanSkiver, Jennifer (Jeff) Kohan, and Beth (Newton) Condict; great-grandchildren Becky (Coby) Young, Kristi (Philip) Burroughs, Nicole (Christopher) Seely, Michael Farnham, Stacy Farnham, Edward VanSkiver, Steven VanSkiver Jr., Newton Condict V, and Iris Kohan; great-great grandchildren Savannah Young, Brandon Farnham, Kyle Farnham and Maddy Farnham; and sisters-in-law Gladys Pierce, Alice Pierce, and Junko Clymer. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Stray Haven Humane Society, 194 Shepard Road, Waverly, New York 14892. A time of gathering with family and friends will be from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M., Friday, April 29, 2011, at Blauvelt Funeral Home, 625 Broad Street, Waverly, NY. The celebration of Louise's life will follow the visitation with the Rev. Anne Bey Canfield honoring her memory at 12:00 P.M. A special tribute to Louise's life will be presented on DVD during the funeral service. Burial will be at Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, Pennsylvania.
