On Tuesday last, 2nd inst, another old identity of Mandurama, Mr A. Coates, passed away. He had been ailing for a considerable time, the immediate cause of death being a paralytic stroke. The deceased gentleman, who was born at Windsor, N.S.W., was 72 years of age at the time of his death, and had been a resident of this district for about 36 years. The funeral cortege left his late residence on Wednesday afternoon en route for the Lyndhurst cemetery, where the Rev. Sealy-Vidal (C.E.) performed the last sad rights at the graveside. A large number of floral tributes and messages of sympathy were sent by friends and sympathizers. He leaves a widow, six sons and five daughters to mourn his loss, to whom we extend our sincere sympathy.
