Elizabeth Coates was born on June 20, 1715 in Darlington, Durham, England, daughter of Michael Coates (1675–1752) and Margaret Welfoot (<1690–1747).[1]
Elizabeth (20) married Edward Pease (23) (born on September 26, 1711 in Felkirk, Yorkshire, England) on July 7, 1735 in Raby Meeting House, Co. Durham. Their children were:

- Michael Pease (1741–1811)
- Thomas Pease (1743–1811)
