Asher Coats, born 28 Oct 1790 in North Stonington, Connecticut, was the second child of David Coats and Molly H. Brown.
He married first, 27 Mar 1817 in North Stonington, Lucy (Holmes; abt.1799-1824). They had probably 3 children [1]:
After the death of his first wife (in 1824), Asher Coats married second, on 18 Apr 1826, Lucy (Billings; 1798-), who became the stepmother of Asher's children. No evidence has been put forth to indicate that any children proceeded from this second marriage.
Asher Coats died 8 months after his second marriage, on 18 Jan 1827 in North Stonington. His grave is represented to be in Holmes Cemetery, North Stonington, New London County, Connecticut, USA [2]. No grave marker is depicted.
Note: Subsequent to the death of Asher Coats, his second wife Lucy (Billings) married second, probably in 1827, Joseph Frink, as his second wife.
