Sarah was born on 7 February 1730 in Smelt House, Witton-le-Wear, County Durham, England. She was the daughter of George Coates and Dorothy (Cartmell) Coates.[1]
When Sarah was 24 she married William Dixon on 30 April 1754 in Raby, Durham.
Sarah died at the age of 78 on 8 August 1808 in Wolviston Mill, Durham, England.[2]
Sarah was buried on 10 August 1808 in Friends' burial ground, Norton, Durham, England.[1][3][4]
