Biography

Edgar was born on September 29, 1885, in Illinois.

Edgar Cobb married Lulu Jarvis in January, 1903, in Carlinville, Macoupin County, Illinois.[1]

He passed away in February, 1963.

January, 1903 - Marriage - Marriage to Lulu Jarvis in Carlinville, Macoupin County, Iowa.

1910 - United States Federal Census - In the 1910 census, Edgar Cobb, 26, is living in Virden Ward 2, Macoupin County, Illinois, with his wife, Lulu, 21 and children, Essie, 6, and Earl, 1. Edgar is a coal miner.[2]

September 12, 1917 - World War I Draft Registration - Edgar is described as a coal miner of medim height and build with blue eyes and brown hair. His next of kin is his wife, Lulu.[3]

1920 - United States Federal Census - In the 1920 census, Edgar, 35, is the head of household living in Springfield Precinct 28, with his wife, Lulu, 30. Also living in the household are daughter Elsie, 17, and sons, Earl, 11 and Cecil, 6. Also living with the family are two nephews, Carl Piper, 20, and Clarence Piper, 22. Edgar, Carl and Clarence are all working as drivers at a coal mine while Elsie is working as the assistant auditor in a dry goods company.[4]

1940 - United States Federal Census - In the 1940 census, Edgar Cobb, 54, is listed as a utility man, and is living with his wife, Lula, 52, in Springfield, Sangamon County, Illinois.[5]
