John Franklin COBB (William Alfred-3, John Paul-2, Jasper Edward-1) was born on April 21, 1832 in Haywood County, North Carolina. He appeared on the census on September 27, 1850 in Union County, Georgia (85th District). He appeared on the census on July 13, 1860 in Union County, Georgia (Ivy Log PO). He appeared on the census on July 13, 1870 in Cherokee County, North Carolina (Notla Township, Murphy PO). He appeared on the census on June 18, 1880 in Cherokee County, North Carolina (Notla Township). He died on June 17, 1911 in Cherokee County, North Carolina. He was buried in Cherokee County, North Carolina (Notla Church Cemetery).

He was married to Sarah Ann Elizabeth WALDROUP on May 4, 1862. Sarah Ann Elizabeth WALDROUP was born on November 13, 1837 in North Carolina. She appeared on the census on July 13, 1870 in Cherokee County, North Carolina (Notla Township, Murphy PO). She appeared on the census on June 18, 1880 in Cherokee County, North Carolina (Notla Township). She appeared on the census on January 6, 1920 in Cherokee County, North Carolina (Notla Township, Culberson PO). She died on October 4, 1921 in Cherokee County, North Carolina. She was buried in Cherokee County, North Carolina (Notla Church Cemetery). John Franklin COBB and Sarah Ann Elizabeth WALDROUP had the following children:
