Frances Hubbard's dower right in the land of John Cobbs was only a life estate. Upon her death the right ceased and all property involved would descend to Cobb's heir (in a will) or his heir at law. It is worth considering that John Cobbs had only one child, a daughter, who married William Eggleston. Frances was not necessarily her mother.

Otherwise Eggleston paid 60 pounds for land that would leave his hands upon the death of Frances Hubbard.

If Frances had owned the property in her own right before her marriage to John Cobbs, then upon her death it would descend to her heir at law (her oldest son or his heirs; or all of her daughters if she had no sons). Such property should not have been considered part of her dower, but sometimes this happened.

Frances _ _ _ _? was not born a Cobb. Her First Husband may have been John Cobb. It seems that Frances sold her dower of the land of her late husband, john Cobb to William Eggleston in 1778. She married Joseph Hubbard abt. 1739, so if she was married to a John Cobb, he must have died prior to 1739. It would be good to find the Will of John Cobb.
