He may have been born in Massachusetts.
"Baptised Nov. 4, 1753 at Hanover. His name appears in census of 1790 as a resident of Bowdoinham, Me., having a family of himself, 2 boys under 16 and 3 females."[1] Note: I think this might be the son of Abiah Cobb instead of Abiah himself - still need to prove this. Note: Do not have a birth day or death date for Abiah (Sr.?) yet.
