James Cobb of Middleborough, yeoman died intestate and on 4 October 1773, his son James Cobb was granted the administration of his estate.[1]
His inventory was taken on 18 November 1773 in Middleborough.[2]
In 1777, an account of his estate by James Cobb was recorded which included, debts paid, funeral charges, provisions for the family and livestock, and administration fees. His widow Susanna received her dower and the remaining estate was set out to James Cobb (eldest son), Seth Cobb, Thankful Cobb, Susannah Pratt, wife of Joseph Pratt of Middleborough, Asenath Cobb, Zilpha Cobb, Hannah Cobb, and Priscilla Cobb.[3]
