Biography

Howell was born in 1870. He was the son of Howell Cobb and Mary McKinley. He passed away in 1933.

Howell married first on 15 Sep 1891 in Franklin County, Georgia to Mary Burnett; [1] and they had at least one child: [2]

  1. Howell Burnett, b. 07 Aug 1894, d. 07 Mar 1918

Where did this Howell Cobb really reside in 1900?

  • He was enumerated with the 2nd U.S. Army Cavalry Regiment in Santa Clara, Cuba on June 6th;
  • He was enumerated with his parents in Athens, Georgia on June 7th; and
  • Based on the age and birth location of his son Hugh, he would have been married and residing in Texas by about 1900.

Mary died in 1914, and Howell married second to Ida June (Judia) Cooper, and they resided in El Paso with Ida's children by her first husband. [3]

After the Spanish-American War, Howell served as a police officer and died in El Paso, Texas at the age of 62. [4]
