Biography

Patience Cobb, born in Plymouth, Massachusetts on 10 August 1668, was the daughter of John Cobb^[1] and Martha Nelson.^[2]

Patience married John Bennett^[2] about 1689^[3] probably in Middleborough, Massachusetts (no marriage record is found for the couple). John and Patience had the following children in Middleborough:

• Nehemiah, born 10 November 16--,^[4] eldest son^[5]
• William, born 21 April 16--,^[4] not named in John's will
• Lydia, born 15 April 16--,^[4] married Holmes and died before February 1753^[5]
• Ebenezer, born 20 February 1700,^[4] married Esther ____ and died before February 1753^[5]
• John, born September 1702,^[4] not named in John's will
• Deborah, born 25 January 1704/5,^[4] married Perkins and died before February 1753^[5]
• Mary, married Bramhall, died before January 1756^[5]

Patience died 2 May 1759, aged 91, in Middleborough,^[6] where she is buried.^[7]

Some online trees list daughters Hannah and Martha, but no sources are found to verify the connection to the parents.

CAUTION: Daughter Deborah is listed as the daughter of Nehemiah Bennett in several sources, but no evidence is found to connect them.
