Biography

Daughter of Valentine and Elizabeth (Sandham) Coble, Sarah was born in Ohio in 1842. She was the older sister of John, Richard, Nicholas (all born in Ohio), Charles and Albert (born in Indiana.) Sarah's mother died when she was 15 years old, and her father remarried. Sarah married Jacob McAhron in Delphi, Indiana, on Oct. 3, 1860. In 1870, they were farming in Cass County, Indiana. Their children were Alice Amanda, Mary, Martha Josephine, and Charles. By 1880, Nancy, Richard, and Ida had been born, and later, Lura. Of their 8 children, only Alice, Josephine, Ida, and Lura lived to adulthood.
