Ermina F. Coburn was born in 1887[1] in Lynn[1], Massachusetts[2][3]. She was the child[2][3] of Miriam L. Smith[4] or Malvina L.[5] and George E. Coburn, Jr., the grandchild of Civil War veteran George E. Coburn of the famous 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry, and the wife[4] of William Faulcon.
Her father and brother Lester also worked in the shoe industry.
