Biography

Jesse was the son of John Burch Cockerham and Delphia Hall.

He married Laura Belle Wilson on 04 Sep 1887 in Jackson County, NC. Performed By: A.H. Sims, Magistrate at the Baptist Church; E.L. McKee and J.M. Long, witnesses.

Seven children would be born to this union: 1. Lydon Weaver Cochran 2. Reanous John Cochran 3. Jesse Rush Cochran 4. Early Coleman Cochran 5. Jetor Birch Cochran 6. Homer Washington Cochran 7. LeEtta Belle Cochran

Jesse and Laura would begin their married life in the Barkers Creek Community of Jackson County.

By 1910 they had removed to Oregon where they are found living in Rock Creek Precinct, Mill City Township, Linn County, Oregon.

By 1920, they had moved to Prosper Precinct, Coos County, Oregon where they would remain until Jesse's death in 1924.

He died, at the age of 64, on April 20, 1924. He is buried at the Masonic Cemetery, Coquille, Coos County, Oregon. [1]
