Biography

Mary Cochran married Jesse Tyra at the home of Levi Thomas Cochran. Her brother, William Riley Cochran married Jesse's sister, Francis Tyra on the same day at the home of W.E. Tyra.

10/26/2017 not sure if front row of children are grandchildren or children of Jessie and Mary. update 08/11/2019 back row on photo are Jesse and Mary's children and front row are grandchildren with Jesse and Mary.

Future research note: how does Mary tie into the Cochran line and does it relate to the William Cochran b. 1805 line?

On the burial list it says Mary A. Tyra but on my oral history lists I have Martha Tyra. Mary could be a daughter in law (yes, she is) of James and Electie Tyra, instead of their daughter, Martha, who would have married and her last name would not be Tyra (Martha married James Hudson on Feb 23,1899). Or Martha could be Etta 1888-1945 ( Etta is probably wife of William D. Tyra. Etta Purser married Sept 1903) on Burial list for Union Hill but then why wasn't she on 1900 AL census living with Electra and brother William? Also, I don't know if their sibling Lindy is a male or female (female). Lindy is probably short for Leander, who was the brother of Mary Cochran (see 1880 census).
