Andrew Hale Cochran, Jr.
Left this life at age 84 on January 21, 2008, surrounded by both children and all four grandkids, even the family dog.
Hale, as he was known early in his life, and Andy as he was know after his 30s, was born to Martha Skewis Cochran and Andrew Hale Cochran (Senior) in Tacoma, WA. He moved to Palo Alto, CA, attending Palo Alto High School, and lived the rest of his life here, with only a few years spent away serving our country in WWII with honors and distinction as a platoon leader in the 3rd Division's 30th Infantry Regiment.
Andy attended the University of Colorado at Boulder, earning a bachelors degree in psychology and a masters degree in personnel management. Andy was an avid Stanford Athletics supporter, attending many baseball, football and tennis matches. Andy enjoyed a long life of work, family, tennis, and volunteer work at Filoli.
Andy is survived by his children, Anne Cochran Gustafson (Mark) of Larkspur, CA, and Robert Cochran (Nancy) of San Luis Obispo, CA; and four grandchildren.
Family and fellow Filoli volunteers gathered at a small service Jan. 25. Gifts of remembrance may be made to Filoli. [1]
