Biography

Joseph was born in Portsmouth Hampshire in 1867. We believe he is the son of Joseph Henry Cochrane (1828-1873) and Alvina Hodges (1847-1906), although we have not confirmed this.

Joseph was married 3 times during his life. He first married Rosina Matthews in 1886, and we believe that he had his first child with her. Rosina passed away in 1910, but prior to that, during the 1901 Census, we learn that Joseph was residing in the same household as Edith Freeman. We don't know what their relationship was at that time, but they married later in 1910 following Rosina's death. Joseph and Edith would become the parents of 3 children. Then, Edith died in 1921, and Joseph would marry again, this time to Elizabeth Hammock.

Joseph, who worked as a furnace builder, passed away in 1945.
