Alfred Gower Cockerill was born on 27 September 1858 in Gretna, Colony of Tasmania, son of Henry Mylam Cockerill (~1806–1873) and Eliza Vincent (1816–1864).[1]
Alfred died on 6 February 1937 in Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand, aged 78.[3] Alfred was mentioned on a memorial in Palmerston Cemetery, Palmerston, Waitaki District, Otago, New Zealand with a death date of 6 February 1937.[4]
