Research Notes
There are two James B Cockrums being confused on Find A Grave and FS. Both lived in Baxter Co and were close to the same age-b. ca. 1878-1879.
James Bryant Cockrum (1878-1950). In 1900 this man is still single and living with his parents. b. Dec 1878. We see Dec dob's again on his WWI and WWII draft reg. and on the tombstone of the man at Custer-Herron, where Wm and Pernetta are also buried. Still looking for obituaries that name family members, but Bessie's says their were 7 children in her birth family. His death certificate would also confirm the correct parents. The son of Wm cannot have also married Desdemonia.
James Briant Cockrum (1878-1903). In 1900 this man is married and has a child. b. Sep 1878. His wife remarried in 1904 and it seems likely he was gone by then.
