Simeon Coe was born on 29 October 1784 in either Litchfield[1] or Durham, Connecticut[2] to Deacon Simeon Coe and Eunice Strong. The family moved from Connecticut to New York by spike team when Simeon was young.[1] He married Mary Miles on 21 September 1807[2] in Oneida Co., New York[1] and they lived in Jordan, New York. In 1838 they moved to Sterling, Illinois; Simeon died in Sterling on 18 May 1848.
