Biography

Joanne (Coe) Baldwin, age 84, of New Hartford, a longtime Litchfield resident, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 25, 2012. She was the wife of the late Earl W. Baldwin. Joanne was born in Torrington on May 11, 1928 daughter of the late Franklin Earle and Helen (Barker) Coe. She had worked for many years as a home health aide. Joanne loved her cats, especially Taffy. She was an avid reader and in her younger years she enjoyed riding horses. She is survived by her son, Wes Baldwin and wife, Jodi, of New Hartford, her daughter, Teri Hall and husband, Cleo, of Torrington, her grandchildren, Kevin Baldwin and wife, Angie, and Michael Speziale, two nieces, Cara Wells and Ayn Riehl and two nephews, Tim Wells and A.J. Baldwin. She was predeceased by a sister, Nancy Wells, a niece and two nephews. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at 11:00am at Hillside Cemetery in Torrington followed by a memorial service at 12:30 at the First Congregational Church of Litchfield, 21 Torrington Road, Litchfield, CT 06759. There will be a gathering in the fellowship hall after the service. Attendees will be invited to share their memories of Joanne. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Little Guild of St. Francis, 285 Sharon-Goshen Turnpike, West Cornwall, Ct 06796.
