Biography

William E Coffin is the son of Duncan Coffin (1808-1865) and Margaret Jane (McEwen) Coffin (1804-1858) [1].

William married Mary Jane Douglas, the daughter of Edward W Douglas and Henrietta Cook, on 8 Jun 1869 in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada [2]. William and Mary Jane had two children before his untimely death at the age of 37. Their oldest daughter appears in the 1880 census [3] while their youngest is found in her marriage registration in 1881[4].
