Benjamin was born in colonial Nantucket in 1705.[1]

The will of Benjamin Coffin of Sherborn, schoolmaster, 24 Jun1774, probated 4 Dec 1780; names grandson Mathew Macy; wife Deborah; youngest daughter Deborah; sons Reuben, Nathaniel. and Benjamin; daughter Anna Clasby; three youngest children, boys, to be put to trade.[citation needed]
