Biography

Thomas was born in 1896^[1] in Hull, Yorkshire, England, where he lived with his parents, William Coggrave and Ada Attersall.^[2] In 1911 Thomas worked as a ship chandler's errand boy.^[3]

He married Winifred Thomas in 1927.^[4] At the time of the 1939 register, the couple lived on Blundell Street in Hull. Thomas was a "watchman (disabled soldier)" and Winifred carried out unpaid domestic duties.^[5]

Thomas died in 1941 at the age of 44.^[6]
