Robert was born in Sandholme, Yorkshire, England, and baptised in 1753 in Eastrington. He was the son of Robert Coggrave and Mary Scruton.[1][2]
In 1780 he married Mary Winter in Howden, Yorkshire.[3][4] They had six children between 1781 and 1795.
Robert died in 1825 in Asselby, Yorkshire, and was buried in Howden.[5]
