Mary (Coggrave) Townend was born in Yorkshire, England.
This profile is part of the Coggrave Name Study.
Mary was born[1] and baptised in 1856 in Howden, Yorkshire, England,[2] where she lived with her parents, William Coggrave and Ann Wheldrake, in 1861.[3]

At the time of the 1871 census, Mary worked as a domestic servant for the Fitch family in Howden.[4] By 1881 she was back at home and working as a dressmaker.[5]

Mary married William Townend in 1885.[6][7] The family lived in Southcoates, Yorkshire, in 1891, when William worked as a joiner.[8][9]

William died in 1902 at the age of 48.[10] In 1911 Mary lived with her children at 26 Severn Street, Hull.[11]

She died in 1927 at the age of 70.[12]
