Sally was born in 1769 and she passed away in 1833.[1]

Research Notes
- Sally is on various online trees with the surname Coghill or Cogswell. Research ongoing.
- Several Coghill families in Virginia have naming patterns for children similar to that of Sally's children.
- Sally's husband served in the Virginia line during the Revolutionary War, then settled in Kentucky afterward. They married likely sometime after the war given her birthdate of 1769 and the birthdate of son Thomas in 1788
- Sally's parents are listed on several online trees as Zachariah (or Zachary) Coghill and Damsel Vaughn. Research ongoing.
- Sally is mentioned as Darby McGannon's wife in his will. Darby's will (written in 1829) can be found in the Jennings County, Indiana Deed Book "B", pages 176-177. An image of it can be viewed here: http://ingenweb.org/injennings/pages/jenrecords/darbymcgannonwill.html

- Sally is listed as "Sallie Cogswell b. 10 May 1769 d. 21 Aug 1833" as the wife of Darby McGannon in a roster of Revoluationary ancestors of the Indiana DAR.[3] Also listed as "Sallie Cogswell" in a SAR application for Lewis K. Torbet.[4]
